Beyond Valentine's Day and heart-shaped candies, it's a time to embrace a deeper understanding of cardiovascular health and the lifestyle habits that keep our hearts beating strong. At Harmony NU, we're passionate about fostering holistic wellness, and this Heart Health Awareness Month, we want to empower you with knowledge and actionable steps to prioritize your heart.

Weekly Wellness Challenges for Heart Health Awareness Month

We've created weekly wellness challenges to help you stay on track this February. These small, manageable steps can make a big difference in your heart health:

Week 1: Eat for Your Heart

  • Focus on incorporating heart-healthy foods into your meals. Add more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to your plate.
  • Challenge: Prepare one heart-healthy recipe this week (e.g., salmon with spinach and quinoa).

Week 2: Move More

  • Physical activity strengthens your heart and improves circulation. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week.
  • Challenge: Take a brisk 20-minute walk at least 5 days this week or try a new activity like dancing or yoga.

Week 3: Stress Less

  • Chronic stress impacts your heart. Practice stress management techniques like mindfulness, deep breathing, or journaling.
  • Challenge: Spend 10 minutes daily on mindfulness exercises or write down three things you're grateful for each day.

Week 4: Sleep for Your Heart

  • Quality sleep helps regulate blood pressure and reduces stress. Prioritize a good night's
  • Challenge: Set a bedtime routine and aim for 6 - 8 hours of sleep each night. Try limiting screen time before bed.
